The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

The Good – Some of the imagery in the movie was just fantastic. The colors were so vibrant it literally took my breath away. I wish I could have seen it in the theater. The story is really good. It was thought provoking and had you on the edge of your seat. I have read the book, but it was a zillion years ago, but I don’t remember it being quite like the movie was. I may need to revisit the book.

The Bad – For Christians, the religious aspects of the film will probably cause problems. I took those aspects of opportunities to discuss our faith with my children. The movie also has some other difficult topics. The death of Pi’s family may be rather difficult for some. There is also quite a lot of violence among the animals. It is a film of survival, and to be a survivor you are surviving something difficult.

The Ugly – No real ugly here. While there are some difficult topics, we aren’t subjected to how truly ugly they could be.
